Kang the Conqueror is one of the most dangerous supervillains. He used to be a scholar named Nathaniel Richards. He came a long way in the future. The character has been around since the 1960s.

He has fought the Fantastic Four and the Avengers many times in different places and times, and he still makes life hard for our heroes. This means that he gets to bother the good guys in every dimension. This helped Kang get ready for his role as the main bad guy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Multiverse Saga. Strange Stories: The Challenge of the Watcher!

At the beginning of the story, Uatu the Watcher shows up at the Baxter Building, where the Fantastic Four live. Even though he said he wouldn’t, Marvel Comics fans know that’s pretty much all he does.

Anyway, he needs the help of Marvel’s First Family, but Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman aren’t available, so Uatu has to make do with the Fantastic Two, which is the Thing and the Human Torch. Their job is to stop Kang the Conqueror’s plan to rule the whole world. This time, he wants to go back to the time of King Arthur, fight Merlin, and beat him in a battle to become the most powerful person of that time.

The Celestial Madonna and Giant-Size Avengers

The Swordsman, who used to be a supervillain, is now a hero and an Avenger. He has also brought along Mantis, a powerful but mysterious female friend. As she tries to figure out what happened to her in the past, Kang the Conqueror, Pharaoh Rama-Tut, and Immortus all try to kill her.

They think she might be the mythical Celestial Madonna, who is said to give birth to the Celestial Messiah. The three men at war want to control the Celestial Messiah for their own bad purposes. Maybe it’s the Scarlet Witch, who has been turning into a real witch, or maybe it’s Agatha Harkness, who teaches the Scarlet Witch how to be a witch.

Timeless (2021)

“Timeless” is another great place to start for people who don’t read comics very often or who want to learn about Kang the Conqueror without buying a million other issues.

It shows a lot of what has made him such a powerful and complicated villain over the years, while also giving him new reasons for doing what he does. He wants to prove that he’s the worst supervillain ever, but he also shows that he doesn’t see the world or himself in simple terms of good and bad.

Here, what’s really shown is his arrogance and his desire to prove that he’s the best at everything, even though (at least in his own mind) he’s above right and wrong.

Let the Game Begin

The Avengers agree to play this fateful game of chess, but only if Kang promises to send them and Tony back to where they came from. Kang the Conqueror doesn’t really play a big role in this story, since he’s not really the main bad guy and stays on the sidelines for most of it.

Still, the fact that he can trick Earth’s Mightiest Heroes into playing a giant board game just so he can spend time with his lady shows how powerful he is. Kang has a lot of dangerous skills, but what really makes him a threat to time and space is his superior intelligence

The Council of Kangs

At the beginning of this story, Iron Man sends the Avengers a mysterious package that blows up and kills them all. Then Iron Man says that he is Kang the Conqueror, but he is taken to Limbo and killed there. But neither this Kang nor those Avengers is the real one. Well, they aren’t really in the main 616 timelines. Instead, they are versions of the characters we know and love from other dimensions.

The real Kang has teamed up with two other versions of himself to kill all the other versions of themselves and replace them with robots they control as part of a plan to rule all timelines. Kang the Conqueror hadn’t been in comics for a while, so it was up to writer Roger Stern and artist Sal Buscema to bring him back in a spectacular way.

Only Myself Left to Conquer

This series came out just as Marvel Studios was getting ready for Kang the Conqueror to make his MCU debut, with his great variant, He Who Remains, making a big splash on “Loki.”

The timing of “Only Myself Left to Conquer” may seem like a cynical attempt to cash in on the villain’s growing popularity, but the song is so good on its own that it doesn’t even need a big-budget movie or show to back it up. Kang’s first solo series does a great job of explaining his long history and cleaning it up, making it easier for old fans to remember and easier for new fans to understand.

The best thing about the series, though, is how it gives the typical bad guy a touch of sadness that doesn’t feel out of place.

Sidekicks

Iron Lad is one of the most popular versions of Kang, and it’s a lot of fun to see him not only reject his fate but also try to make a better one.

Kang has done some pretty bad things in his long and eventful life, but the fact that he was once a sweet young boy makes his fall into evil and egotism even more tragic. Since Kang and Iron Lad can’t stay in the same timeline together for long, we get a shocking look at how fragile time is.
