Here are some series I think you should check out if you want to start reading webcomics.

1. The Witch’s Bakery  

Gingerbread Cove is the ninth base. A quiet seaside town is hidden away in a forgotten part of the world. Its people get up at dawn like clockwork and close their small shops at dusk.

Here, a young runaway named Scott Butter wants to start a quiet new life working in a cute little bakery. Too bad the shop he works at is owned by a family of witches and almost everyone in town is some kind of magical creature.

The Malaysian artist 4threset makes a mysterious and magical adventure that gets updated every Sunday.

2. Ghost Teller

Do you think your stories about ghosts are scary? Try hearing these stories straight from the ghosts.

Even though the series is called “After the Dead,” it is more about how cruel people can be. This is a must-read if you like stories like the Monkey’s Paw that are creepy and ironic and deal with the consequences of what people do.

3. Gourmet Hound 

Lucy has a supernatural sense of taste and smell. Though, she finds out that the kitchen staff at her favorite restaurant has changed, and she doesn’t know who the chef is whose food she’s loved for years.

When a lucky accident puts her in touch with two former chefs, she decides to do everything she can to find each of their old coworkers. Overall, she did it with the intention to find that “perfect taste” again. If you’ve been watching a lot of Korean dramas, your eyes might be getting tired. Instead, why not try a webcomic?

4. Raruurien

Raruurien is a slice-of-life webcomic about Rien, a witch who is a widow and has two sons. She lives in a small mountain village with her family.

To live peacefully without her husband, she has to blend in with the villagers, learn about their culture, be a good example for her sons, and keep a low profile by keeping her powerful magic hidden from the public.

5. The Weight of Our Sky

During the historic race riots in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 1969, a music-loving teen with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) does everything she can to find her way back to her mother.

7. The Tea Dragon Society

The story of Greta, an apprentice blacksmith, and the people she meets as she gets involved in the magical world of tea dragons is told in The Tea Dragon Society.

Greta meets Hesekiel and Erik, the kind owners of a tea shop after she finds a lost tea dragon in the market.
